Angola’s Minister of Mineral Resources Diamantino Azevedo promises that his country intends to open a diamond exchange in 2022 “on an experimental basis,” IDEX Online reports.
Azevedo told Macauhub that Angola “seeks to cooperate in this area with Antwerp.” According to the State-owned Angolan National Diamond Trading Company (SODIAM), five “global tender and auction houses had already shown interest in participating in the Angolan diamond bourse.” This bourse will include “a gemological academy and a technological research centre.”
Currently, Angola is setting up a cutting and polishing in Saurimo, Lunda Sul.
