Victoria Brodski and the 2.65 carat diamond found at Arkansas State Park

ARKANSAS: WOMAN FINDS A 2.65-CARAT GEM IN UNDER 10 MINUTES

25 year-old Victoria Brodski has had a very good birthday: the young woman, who visited Arkansas’s Crater of Diamonds State Park for her birthday last week, found a 2.65-carat diamond after just ten minutes of entering the park.

According to a press release by the park, Brodski “was sitting with her daughter and brother by a culvert near the mine entrance when she picked up what she thought was a pretty piece of glass”. A couple of hours later, as she showed her find to park staff, they confirmed that she had found “a beautiful brown diamond” with a “smooth, rounded surface”.

Brodski’s diamond “is the second-largest diamond found so far in 2017, topped only by the 7.44-carat brown diamond found by a 14 year old” earlier in the year.
