Mining giant Rio Tinto will offer seven pink, red, and purple diamonds from the renowned Argyle mine in Western Australia, which ceased operations in 2020, as part of the 2024 Beyond Rare tender, according to IDEX Online.
The “Old Masters” collection will feature diamonds ranging from 0.60 to 2.63 carats, all mined over a decade ago. These rare gems will be the centerpiece of the 2024 Beyond Rare tender, which includes 76 diamonds with a combined weight of 39.44 carats from the Argyle mine and Rio Tinto’s Diavik mine in Canada’s Northwest Territories.
The tender comprises 48 lots, to be showcased in London, Australia, Singapore, and Belgium. Bidding opens on November 18.
