Bride Refuses to Accept $20K Lab-Grown Engagement Ring

This seems like a good start for a blissful marriage: an anonymous Reddit user went on the platform to tell the world how his fiancé had refused his marriage offer after he proposed to her with a lab-grown diamond engagement ring.

According to the report, published on IDEX Online, the groom proposed the woman with a 3.6-carat ring. He told her he paid $20,000 for the ring. Here is where the plot thickens: “She was initially floored that I had spent so much but later became suspicious that I had managed to get such a large stone”, he wrote and added: “When she saw it was lab-grown she got upset that I hadn’t bought her a ‘real’ diamond.”

She immediately threw the ring in his face and has since then refused to talk to him until he got a ring set with a natural mined diamond. The poor groom continued: “Over the last week I have explained to her multiple times my reasons for going lab grown. I wanted to get her the most beautiful ring possible. But she insists that she can tell a difference and it is just not the same.”

He ended his post with: “I said if she wanted to give the ring back and end our relationship, that is fine, but I would not exchange it.”
