A platinum Cartier ring with a vivid red 8.39-carat Burmese ruby and diamonds was the highlight at a recent jewelry sale at Poly Auction in Hong Kong, where it sold for $7.3 million, according to IDEX Online.
The massive ruby in the “Fleur de Lotus Ring” was “accented with two triangular diamonds of 1.07 carats and paved with 12 baguette-cut diamonds of 0.79 carats and 156 circular-cut diamonds of 1.84 carats in total,” per the report.
The ring, which Poly Auction said was “one of the most exclusive pieces of jewelry from Cartier,” was bought by an unnamed “important collector.”
