CHINESE RICHES: THE STORY OF CHINESE SUPERSTAR ANEGELABABY

Born in 1989, Angela Yeung Wing is better known today as Angelababy. A huge celebrity in China and her home base Hong Kong, Angelababy is a model, actress, and singer. In 2016, she won the Hundred Flowers Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the hit film Mojin: The Lost Legend. The same year, she starred in her first television series, as well as playing a supporting role in the Hollywood blockbuster Independence Day: Resurgence.

In 2009, Angelababy began dating Chinese actor Huang Xiaoming. On October 2015, the couple held one of the most expensive wedding banquets in China’s history, spending $31 million on the festivities. The wedding, comprising 2,000 guests, was held at the Shanghai Exhibition Center. Angelababy wore a custom Dior gown. Although its price was never divulged, the gown is indeed a pricey one: The masterpiece was made up of 115 feet of ivory satin organza and 165 feet of tulle, as well as a 10-foot-long train and almost a hundred hand-cut rose bouquets made of Chantilly lace.

Angelababy also brought it with her bling: Her wedding band, valued at $1.5 million, was a Joséphine Aigrette Impériale ring designed by the french jewelry designer Chaumet. It featured a 5-carat pear-shaped diamond surrounded by brilliant-cut diamonds weighing 0.5-carat each.
