Christie’s live auctions are coming back with a bang: In its first live auction since the coronavirus global spread, the auction house will put under the hammer a 12.11-carat blue diamond ring estimated at $12.2 million.
According to IDEX Online, the marquise-cut, internally flawless fancy intense blue diamond will be part of Christie’s Magnificent Jewels Auction in Hong Kong on July 9. The auction was postponed from June 2. Since March, Christie’s has been holding only online sales.
Other notable lots include a 6.06-carat Burmese “Pigeon’s Blood” ruby and diamond ring, estimated at $830,000-$1.23 million; and a diamond necklace featuring 12.81 and 6.5-carat Kashmir sapphires, estimated at $770,000 to $1.03 million.
According to Diamond World, Christie’s plans to hold total of 22 live and online luxury sales from June through the end of July.
