A 24.45-carat heart-shaped diamond estimated to sell for $1.55 million to $2.55 million is the highest-valued jewel ever offered at an online auction, IDEX Online reports.
The D color, IF, Type IIa diamond pendant will lead Christie’s “Jewels Online: Summer Sparkle” sale which closed yesterday (August 18). The sale will also include “The Summer Sunrise”, a fancy vivid orange yellow diamond ring of 9.83 carats, VS1 clarity, estimated at $600,000-800,000.
Christie’s broke the record for the most expensive jewel sold on auction with a 28.86-carat D-color, emerald-cut, VVS1 Type IIa diamond sold for $2,115,000 after 31 bids.
