DIAMCOR RECOVERS 5.36-CARAT GREEN DIAMOND FROM VENETIA

Diamcor Mining has recovered a “5.36 ct green gem-quality octahedron rough diamond” from the Krone-Endora at Venetia Project in South Africa, Mining Weekly reports.

 

The diamond was shipped to Antwerp and an analysis “will be performed over the coming weeks”. The green diamond will be offered at a third and final tender of the current quarter, scheduled to be completed by the end of June 2017, along with other rough diamonds.

 

Diamcor sold $702,635 worth of rough diamonds in its second tender held in mid-May. The sale, which comprised of rough stones from the miner’s Krone-Endora at Venetia, totaled 3,265 carats, representing an average price of $215.20 per carat. All in all, the second tender “brought the total rough diamonds tendered and sold from processing through the newly expanded facilities” to 6,165 carats, “with seven individual rough diamonds being in the specials category”.
