Price Increases in Some Diamond Categories in August

The prices of round diamonds and fancy-cut diamonds weighing 2 carats and above increased in certain categories during August, according to IDEX Diamond Price Index, according to IDEX Online.

The price list indicates that while most categories continued to experience price declines, the mixed trend might suggest early signs of recovery in the natural diamond market. It was also reported that activity across all trading centers was relatively weak, and diamond production in India remains significantly below capacity.

The price list highlights several key increases, including a 1.5-4% rise in the prices of diamonds weighing 4 to 4.99 carats, with color grades E-H and clarity grades VVS1-VS2. Additionally, there was a 1.4% increase in the prices of diamonds weighing 5.00-5.99 carats, with color grades D-F and clarity grades ID-VS1. The prices of fancy-cut diamonds weighing 3.00-3.99 carats with clarity grades ID-VS2 rose by 1.5%, while those weighing 4.00-4.99 carats, with color grades E-F and clarity grades IF-VS2, saw a 2.4% increase.
