DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH: THE STORY OF AVICII

Avicii, one of the leading DJs in the world, was born Tim Bergling in Sweden. His career started as early as 16, when he posted his remixes in online forums of electronic music and signed his first record label deal. In 2011 he produced his first hit, Levels, and in 2013 he debuted True, an album of electronic music with pop influences. The album, and particularly the hit single Wake Me Up, made Avicii an household name.

Stories, his second album, were released in 2015. Avicii was nominated for Grammy Awards for his work on the hit single Sunshine with David Guetta in 2012. In 2013, he raked in another nomination for his track Levels. Battling with alcohol abuse for most of his adult life, Avicii died on 20 April 2018 near Muscat, Oman. He was 28.

Avicii’s style was modest, as was his taste in jewelry. His signature bracelet was made by Los-Angeles based jeweler Nialaya, which now sell an “Avicii” bracelet for $500 on their website. The bracelet has a white silver base and features Labradorite stones and blue lapis. Fans can also console themselves with an AVICII style chrome bracelet, which Avicii helped to design.
