DUBAI DIAMOND BOURSE ELECTS NEW BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE) has elected a new Board of Directors, according to a press release by the DDE.

Among the newly elected directors are Amit Dhamani, CEO and Managing Director of Dhamani Jewels; Davy Blommaert, Unit Head Precious Metals & Diamonds of the National Bank of Fujairah, and Gautam Sashittal, CEO of the DMCC. DDE Chairman, Ahmed Bin Sulayem, commented that the new board “will bring in fresh views and expertise to further boost our key strategic goals, particularly around rough and polished diamond tenders […]”.

In February of this year, The DDE signed a strategic partnership with Stargems, a company that specializes in diamond sourcing and supply, for a series of Stargems tenders in 2018. According to a press release, the new partnership “enables international members, miners and suppliers” to trade in rough diamonds at Stargems events hosted by the DDE in Dubai.
