Dubai: New Company Registrations at the DMCC Shot Up in 2022

The Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) attracted 3,049 new businesses in 2022 – its best-ever year for new member company registrations – according to Rough & Polished. It is an increase of 23% year-on-year.

According to a press release, the growth was “driven by prominent international demand, DMCC’s continued work within key commodities sectors, and the growing demand from blockchain and web3 businesses for space at the DMCC Crypto Centre, to the extent that the Crypto Centre is now home to over 500 companies.”

In other Dubai news, Rough & Polished reports that jewelry sales rose in 2022 thanks to “the recovery in the economy and the massive increase of tourist inflows”. According to the report, Gen Z customers preferred to buy diamond jewelry and trendy and lightweight jewelry. Additionally, investment in gold shot up “due to gold continuing its position as a safe-haven investment.”
