FOOTBALL STAR SUES JEWELER FOR $9 MILLION OVER “OVERPRICED JEWELRY”

Drew Brees, the star quarterback for the New Orleans Saints, has filed a lawsuit against California-based Vahid Moradi, who operates CJ Charles Jewelers in San Diego, for allegedly cheating him out of $9 million through jewelry purchases. According to multiple news reports, Drew Brees filed the suit along with his wife, Brittany Brees.

In the lawsuit, the couple claims that they purchased several pieces of jewelry as investments from Moradi, appraised for $9 million less than they paid for the pieces. All in all, Brees says he bought a total of $15 million worth of jewelry from Moradi that are now valued at $6 million. Among the pieces is a 4.09-carat blue-diamond ring that the couple bought for about $8.2 million but was recently estimated to be worth $3.75 million.

According to the reports, an attorney for Moradi claims that Brees attempted to “bully” Moradi after the items he has purchased “didn’t increase in value the way the player had hoped they would”.
