Fugitive Diamantaire Jatin Mehta Found “Living the Life” in London

Jatin Mehta, former owner of Winsome Diamonds who is accused of defrauding $1 billion from a gold bullion and jewelry manufacturer and a diamond company in India, has been found living an “expensive lifestyle” in London, IDEX Online reports.

Mehta is alleged to have used a complex web of companies in the UAE, Britain, Singapore and Ireland to defraud companies in India. He was granted citizenship of St Kitts and Nevis, which has no extradition arrangement with India, and has been living in London with his family.

According to the report, the High Court in London froze the family’s assets after having heard that Mehta, his wife Sonia, and two sons Vishal and Suraj “were found living in three houses in the capital, in upmarket St John’s Wood, Maida Vale and Hampstead Garden Suburb.”
