GIA Watch Jewellery Initiative 2030

GIA Joins WJI2030 Initiative for “A More Sustainable Future”

The Geneva-based Watch & Jewellery Initiative 2030 (WJI 2030), founded in October 2021 as “a movement for positive change in the industry,” has been graced with a new member – the GIA (Gemological Institute of America).

According to the organization, quoted by IDEX Online, the move is “an extension of its commitment to a more sustainable future for the world, our industry and for the Gemological Institute of America (GIA).”

WJI 2030, established by Cartier and Kering, “focuses on building climate resilience, preserving resources and fostering inclusiveness,” and believes the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) “can only be achieved through collaborative initiatives.”
