According to the IDEX Index, published by IDEX Online, polished prices kept rising overall during March although there were more price drops “among both rounds and fancies than have seen of late.”
Among Round diamonds, price increases dominated for most sizes, although there were more drops than in recent months. Prices rose most 1.50-carat-4.99-carat goods, K+ and SI3+. Prices also rose among 1.00-carat-1.24-carat goods, J+ and SI1+. However, there were price falls in D-E/VS2-SI3. 5.00-carat-5.99-carat goods saw “a near-even mix of increases and decreases.”
Among Fancy diamonds, there were many price rises among all sizes, except those under 0.30-carats. However, there were “significantly more reductions,” especially among 1.00-carat-1.24-carat goods.
