The IDEX Price Report for November 1, published by IDEX Online, shows that the overall trend “is still downwards, although there are pockets of price increases among some sizes.”
According to the report, consumers are spending less money – a factor with a “clear impact on diamond prices.” Consumers are buying smaller stones or bigger stones with lower colors and clarities.
Among Rounds, stones of 0.4-carats to 1.24-carats were characterized by price drops, although most of those sizes saw increases in D&E colors and VS2 clarities. As for Fancy diamonds, “there was generally more upward than downward movement,” particularly for 1.25-carat to 5.99-carat stones.
