American Jeweler Gets Jail time For $4 Million Rolex Scam

Santiago Mora, a 40-year-old jeweler from Texas, was sentenced to 27 months in prison after pleading guilty to committing wire fraud over $3.9-million Rolex watches, IDEX Online reports.

According to the report, Mora “failed to deliver $3.9 million of pre-paid Rolex watches to a customer.” Then, in an effort to pay the customer and others, “Mora obtained a total $500,000 in merchant cash advances via wire transfer by impersonating and using the good credit of his business partner. “

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Texas, Mora admitted his crime to his business partner, and was subsequently arrested.
