KUWAIT HAS POTENTIAL TO TRANSFORM INTO FULLY-FLEDGED DIAMOND TRADING MARKET

The diamond market of gulf state Kuwait has the potential to transform into a fully-fledged trading market, according to a report from the official Kuwait News Agency (KNA).

During a news conference, hosted by Belgian’s Hoge Raad Voor Diamand (HRD), it was explained that the high purchasing power of a large division of Kuwait’s population is one of the reasons behind the potential.

According to Sabaek Al-Kuwait Company Chief Executive Officer Harned Rajab, the HRD is ready to train local diamond dealers and assist them with some of the difficulties in the diamond business, reports KNA.

Diamond expert Mehmet Can Ozdemir compared Kuwait, which has experience in trading in pearls, to Dubai, China and Hong Kong.
