The Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) and the Rapaport Group are jointly hosting the largest auction of polished diamonds ever held in Dubai, as reported by Rough&Polished. The auction will close this Wednesday, with bids being submitted online.
According to the report, the auction will feature over 3,200 items, including more than 2,800 single diamonds and around 415 melee diamond parcels. Overall, the sale will include more than 50,000 carats of polished diamonds.
Dubai is expected to host further diamond auctions between October and December. Diamond trading in Dubai has seen record growth in recent years, with total trade in rough and polished diamonds reaching $38.3 billion last year, including a 32% increase in the volume of polished diamond trade.
