PETRA’S DIAMOND PRODUCTION UP 15% IN LAST 9 MONTHS

Petra Diamonds has announced its results for the Q3 period ended 31 March 2017, as well as production and revenue for the nine months running to the same date, as reported by Diamond World.

 

In Q3, Petra’s production was flat at 999,768 carats, and revenues fell 1% to $119.1 million, with no revenue from Exceptional Diamonds. Petra sold 1,069,886 carats of diamonds in Q3 – up 14% from 937,526 year-on-year. Petra added that “rough diamond prices up ca. 2% on a like-for-like basis in comparison to the average for H1 FY 2017”.

 

Production for the nine months to 31 March 2017 rose 15% to 3,014,856 carats. Revenue for the period was up 27% to $347.6 million, including $10.9 million from Exceptional Diamonds.

 

Petra maintains full year production guidance of approximately 4.4 million carats for the year.
