According to the most recent polished diamond index, published by polishedprices, the overall polishedprices index went down slightly this week, following a “week of volatile trading”.
On Monday, November 19, the polishedprices index stood at 122.7. One week later, on Monday, November 26, the polishedprices index stood at 122.4 – down 03.% week-over-week. The overall index is 5.8% above its level of this time last year, and up 5.5% since the start of the year.
The strongest category this week was the Mixed 1.0 carat range, which rose 1.9% compared to the previous Monday. The weakest categories were the Commercial 1.0 carat, 0.5 carat and 0.3 carat, which slipped 4.1%, 2.0% and 4.5% respectively, week-over-week.
