According to the most recent polished diamond index, published by polishedprices, the overall polishedprices index continued to slip throughout last week.
On Monday, December 3, the polishedprices index stood at 121.2. One week later, on Monday, December 10, the polishedprices index stood at 120.7 – down 0.5% week-over-week. The overall index is 4.3% above its level of this time last year, and up 4% since the start of the year.
According to polishedprices, all of the Mixed qualities went up: The 1.0 carat, 0.5 carat and 0.3 carat ranges gaining 0.9%, 0.2% and 0.1% respectively. The weakest category came from the Fine 1.0 carat range, which went down 6.0% compared to the previous Monday.
