POLISHED DIAMOND INDEX KEEPS STEADY THIS PAST WEEK

According to the most recent polished diamond index, published by polishedprices, the overall polishedprices index “steadied after falling for three weeks”.

 

On Monday, December 10, the polishedprices index stood at 120.7. One week later, on Monday, December 17, the polishedprices index stood at 120.4 – down 0.2% compared to the previous week. The overall index is 2.8% above its level of this time last year, and up 3.8% since the start of the year.

 

The strongest categories were in the 1.0 carat ranges, with the Fine and Commercial rising 2.8% and 0.9% respectively week-over-week. The weakest categories were in the Fine 0.3 carat range, which fell 4% compared to the previous Monday.
