POLISHED DIAMOND INDEX UP OVER THE PAST WEEK

According to the most recent polished diamond index, published by polishedprices, the overall polishedprices index “rose throughout most of last week”.

 

On Monday, February 25, the overall polishedprices index stood at 119.5 points. One week later, on Monday, March 4, the overall polishedprices index stood at 120.8 points – up 1.1% compared to the previous Monday. The overall index is 1.7% above its level of this time last year, and has gained 1.0% since the start of the year.

 

The largest gain among the benchmark categories came from the Fine 0.5 carat range, which rose 5.9% and recovered “most of last week’s losses”. The Mixed 0.3 carat range recorded the largest loss, falling 1.1% week-over-week.
