POLISHED DIAMOND INDEX FALLS SLIGHTLY THIS WEEK

According to the most recent polished diamond index, published by polishedprices, the overall polishedprices index has slipped this past week. On Monday August 28, the polishedprices index stood at 120.7 points; one week later, on Monday September 3, the polishedprices index stood at 119.8 – down 0.8% week-on-week.

 

The overall index is 2.8% above its level of this time last year, and has gained 3.3% since the start of the year.

 

The strongest category over the past week came from the Fine 0.5 carat range, which went up 1.8% week-on-week. The weakest category was the better quality 1.0 carat ranges, with Fine and Commercial going down 5.4% and 1.3% respectively week-on-week.
