The Fancy Color Diamond Index, published by the Fancy Color Research Foundation (FCRF), has seen prices rising in the third quarter of the year. The Fancy Color Diamond Index tracks Yellow, Pink, and Blue Fancy Color Diamonds in the major global trading centers – Hong Kong, New York, Geneva and Tel Aviv.
According to a press release, prices of Fancy color diamonds rose 0.7% this quarter and 1.1% throughout the year. Blue diamonds led the charge (0.8%), followed by Pinks and Yellows (0.7% and 0.6% respectively).
FCRF Advisory Board member Eden Rachminov commented: “This increase was actually expected, as Fancy Color prices were too low for too long. In my opinion, most colors will keep increasing in price over the next two years, especially the yellow category in all grades.”
