According to the IDEX Price Report for July 1, published by IDEX Online, round and Fancy diamonds experienced a “slight overall increase in prices”.
According to the report, many sizes saw little movement. Among round diamonds, there were “localized bursts of activity”: 0.70-0.79 carat goods saw a “concentration of price drops among D-E, of VS2 and better clarity”. Prices of 1.00-1.0-1.24 carat stones “were quiet”.
Among Fancy diamonds, the smallest stones saw the most movement: 0.18-0.22 carat stones enjoyed increases among J color and better and SI1 and better. According to the report, most other size categories saw prices “largely unchanged or evenly mixed”. Overall, the direction of travel was slightly upwards”. Among 0.50-0.59 and and 0.90-0.99 carat stones there were both decreases and increases. Among 1-carat to 2.99 carats there were more ups than downs.
