SARINE: GALAXY PRODUCTS SCANNED 10 MILLION STONES IN 2017

In a press release quoted by IDEX Online, Israel-based Sarine Technologies reported that its Galaxy family systems scanned ten million stones worldwide in 2017. The Galaxy family of systems (encompassing the Galaxy, Galaxy XL, Galaxy Ultra, Solaris and Meteor products) was launched in late 2009.

David Block, CEO of Sarine, said: “[…] We will continue our commitment to developing and delivering the highest quality inclusion mapping solutions, including the new Meteorite™ system to be launched shortly and additional upgrades to be launched later in 2018 with further technological breakthroughs”.

In November 2017, Sarine reported a fall of 15% in revenue to $45.7 million in the nine months ended 30 September. The decrease was attributed to “lower sales of capital equipment in the third quarter”. Net profit declined to $5.1 million in the nine month period. For the third quarter of the year, Sarine’s revenue decreased 35% to $11.3 million, and the company recorded a net loss of $500,000 during the quarter.
