IDI Chief Marketing Officer Ira Tsirlina said: “The healthy traffic on the first day created a positive sentiment among the Israeli exhibitors, and we hope that the traffic will translate to trades”.
The exhibition is celebrating its 35th edition this year, and the occasion was marked by several ceremonies. The anniversary celebration was kicked off with a special presentation of Loyalty Awards to eight exhibitors who have participated in the fair for 35 consecutive years. Then came the traditional parade, headed by a huge “dragon” and drummers, who passed through the different pavilions. As part of this year’s 35th anniversary, 35% discount is offered for exhibitors or visitors who are turning 35 years old during the fair period, and/or holders of Hong Kong ID/Passport/Exit-Entry for Travelling to and from Hong Kong and Macau with document numbers containing 3 & 5. Additionally, the Arena Kitchen, IKON and Spotlight Bar are offering 35% discount on beverages.

In an effort to promote the fair in social media, the organizers have placed “Selfie Spots” throughout the exhibition area. These spots offer numerous gifts for exhibitors who will promote the fair using the UBM Asia’s Facebook and Instagram pages.

The exhibition’s 35th edition runs from two locations in the city: at AsiaWorld-Expo from Wednesday to Sunday, while the exhibition for gems, diamonds and pearls is held at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre from Friday to Tuesday. Both locations will host over 3,680 exhibitors from 56 countries and regions in more than 135,000 square meters of exhibition space.

Sunny Chan, senior event manager, Jewellery Fairs, UBM Asia, said the September Fair is expected to welcome around 56,000 visitors in its seven-day run.
