At the recently held Important Jewels auction at Sotheby’s New York, a pair of Boucheron diamond earrings sold for $1.26 million, IDEX Online reports. The auction raked in a total of $12.4 million.
The detachable 14-carat and 13.75-carat pear-shaped diamonds are Type IIa, set in 18K gold “together with around 7.80-caratt of accenting diamonds.” The earrings beat their pre-auction estimate of $900,000 to $1.2 million.
Another notable lot was a necklace set with 47 square emerald-cut diamonds weighing 146.52 carats, which sold for $945,000.
