“DESPACITO” SINGER ROBBED OF $2 MILLION IN GEMS AND JEWELRY

Daddy Yankee, the Puerto-Rican rapper mostly known for his hit single “Despacito”, claims he was was robbed of $2 million in jewelry in Spain last week.

 

The singer, whose real name is is Ramón Luis Ayala Rodríguez, was visiting the city of Valencia and staying at the Melía Valencia hotel. According to a tweet posted by his reps, Nevarez PR, the singer “has been victim of a robbery while he was out of his hotel in Valencia, Spain”. The PR firm added that “a law firm has been hired and there will not be any more statements in order to not hinder the investigation”.

 

Allegedly, a man impersonated Daddy Yankee, convincing an hotel employee to open the singer’s safe in his room. He then cleared it, walking away with gold chains, diamonds, and other jewelry worth over $2 million as well as several thousands of dollars in cash.
