SUPERMODEL RETURNS $8.1 MILLION WORTH OF DIAMONDS TO US GOVT.

Diamonds are a girl’s best friend – up to a point: Australian supermodel Miranda Kerr has handed over $8.1 million worth of diamond jewelry to the US Justice Department this week.

The reason: The jewelry was gifted to her by her ex, Jho Low, a financier who’s been the target of an investigation surrounding the Malaysian government. The US Justice Department claims that the jewelry, which was gifted to Kerr in 2014, was bought by Low with stolen money. Among other items, the jewelry included a Lorraine Schwartz $3.8 million diamond pendant.

The investigation into Low focuses on more than $4.5 billion stolen from a Malaysian state fund, 1MDB, set up by the Malaysian PM Najib Razak.
