The World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) and the International Diamond Manufacturers Association (IDMA) will hold the first virtual 39th World Diamond Congress this week. The WDC will begin tomorrow (September 14) and run through September 15.

The 39th World Diamond Congress, a biennial gathering of the WFDB and IDMA, was originally planned to be held in Hong Kong in November 2020, but has been moved to a digital format due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The opening session (September 14, 17:30-18:15), titled “Diamonds in the Next Normal”, will feature the following speakers: Yoram Dvash, WFDB Acting President; Ronnie VanderLinden, IDMA President; Edward Asscher, WDC President; and Gaetano Cavalieri, CIBJO President. This will be followed by a webinar about Get Diamonds by CEO Kim Pelletier.

The closing session on September 15 (18:15-19:15) will feature the following speakers: Yoram Dvash, WFDB Acting President; and Ronnie VanderLinden, IDMA President. This will be followed by the webinar “What you need to know about the System of Warranties” by Peter Karakchiev, Head of International Relations Alrosa.
