Full House at WDC world diamond council

WDC TO BE HELD IN MUMBAI IN LATE OCTOBER

The 2018 World Diamond Congress, the biannual meeting of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) and the International Diamond Manufacturers Association (IDMA), will take place in Mumbai, India, in late October, according to Diamond World. The Congress was supposed to be held in Tel Aviv in June, but was postponed.

WFDB President Ernie Blom said: “At our last Executive Committee meeting in Antwerp last week, our colleagues from the Bharat Diamond Bourse kindly extended an invitation to host the 2018 Congress in Mumbai […] the final dates will be communicated as soon as possible”.

Recently, the World Diamond Council (WDC) System of Warranties (SoW) completed an industry review, and is now in the midst of a public review period. The new reforms are planned to be implemented beginning in 2019. The review process and reforms aim at helping “industry participants better implement and demonstrate commitment to responsible business conduct when buying or selling rough and polished diamonds”.
