World Diamond Council President Andrey Polyakov

WDC PRESIDENT RESIGNS, VP TAKES CHARGE

The World Diamond Council (WDC) announced that current president Andrey Polyakov has resigned, and will be leaving his post by the end of the week.

 

According to a press release, WDC Vice President Stephane Fischler will become acting President effective July 1, 2017. A reason for the resignation was not given. According to the WDC, “Fischler will serve in this capacity until the end of the term of this Board, at which time he will start his two year term as WDC President”. Fischler commented: “We owe a debt of gratitude to Andrey for his leadership and I, along with the rest of the members, look forward to continuing the good work he began with us”.

 

According to a press release by Alrosa, Polyakov He will also leave Alrosa in the near future. Alrosa says that “the decision was agreed with ALROSA’s President”. Alrosa President Sergey Ivanov thanked Polyakov for his contribution to the company and commented: “I accepted Polyakov’s request to continue his career outside the company, since all of the most important tasks and projects he was working on in recent years have been successfully accomplished and implemented”.
