WOMEN ARRESTED FOR SMUGGLING 4 KG OF GOLD IN MUMBAI AIRPORT

Two women of Indian origin and of foreign nationality were arrested earlier this week (July 22) by Airport Customs Air Intelligence Unit (ACIU) at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai.

According to Art of Jewelry, the women, who came from Singapore, were trying to smuggle four kilograms of gold jewelry hidden in their undergarments.

The women were caught when one of them raised the suspicions of an AICU official while she was crossing the customs area. A search by a female AICU officer then revealed she was hiding two kilograms of gold jewelry in her underwear. Upon questioning, the woman revealed she was accompanied by another woman. Her accomplice was then stopped as she was leaving the airport, carrying two kilograms of gold hidden in her underwear as well.
