Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show

HONG KONG INTERNATIONAL DIAMOND, GEM & PEARL SHOW KICKS OFF AT ASIAWORLD-EXPO

The Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show kicks off today (February 28) and continues through 4 March at the AsiaWorld-Expo. As in previous years, the 34th HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) from 2 to 6 March. Both shows are expected to draw more than 4,400 exhibitors from 53 countries and regions.

The Israel Diamond Pavilion, organized by the Israel Diamond Institute Group of Companies (IDI), will measure 1200 square meters and hosts 83 companies at the Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show. Ten additional Israeli companies will be exhibiting in other locations throughout the show. Four of the Israeli exhibitors are participating in this show for the first time.

For the second year in a row, the Israel Diamond Pavilion will feature three GET DIAMONDS terminals – an innovative online B2B trading platform that will enable buyers to search a computerized database in both English and Chinese of all goods offered by Israeli exhibitors at the show. Buyers are also able to access the Get Diamond platform on their smartphones.

Going into the show, the Israeli Diamond Industry is quite optimistic. IDI Chairman Shmuel Schnitzer said, “As the “opening show” for 2016 this show is a very important place for us to be. Recently we’ve been seeing an upward trend in Asian markets which is very encouraging, and we are looking forward to 2017 being a better year than 2016.” Schnitzer said that IDI would again be participating in four trade shows in Hong Kong this year – in March, June, September and November.
