Ethereal Green, an Indian company, has announced that it has broken its own record for the world’s biggest polished lab grown diamond with a new 50.25-carat gem, IDEX Online reports.
The Type IIa crystal took eight months to grow, using chemical vapor deposition (CVD). It was then cut and polished into an emerald-cut G color, VS2 clarity gem named “Shiphra.” The 50.25-carat stone was certified by IGI (International Gemological Institute) in India, “and has been on display at JCK in Las Vegas,” according to the report.
Hirav Anil Virani, managing director of Mumbai-based Ethereal Green, said: “By pushing the boundaries of what is possible, we aim to redefine the perception of lab-grown diamonds.”
