The next meeting of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) Young Diamantaires group, which will be held at the September edition of the Hong Kong Jewellery and Gem Fair, will have a special session on the benefits that blockchain technology can bring diamond and jewelry businesses.
The Young Diamantaires group is an initiative created last year by WFDB Promotion Committee Chairman Rami Baron. It consists of “younger members of organisations, diamond firms, bourses and diamond retailers from around the world”. According to Gem Konnect, Baron commented: “Blockchain is a fascinating technology which can provide huge benefits to the diamond and jewelry industries, and this will be an opportunity to learn all about it”.
The presentation will be given by Leanne Kemp, the founder of Australian start-up Everledger, which uses blockchain.
