Alrosa held an auction for special size rough diamonds (weighing over 10.8 carats) in New York last week, raking in $11 million in sales revenue. The company’s total revenue at its US auctions exceeded $38 million this year, garnered from four auctions.
The company sold 93 rough diamonds with a total weight of 1,560 carats, generating $11 million – “the best result of the last few months” – the Russian mining giant said in a press release. 95 diamond firms participated in the auction, which drew buyers from the US, Belgium, India, Israel, UAE, Russia and Hong Kong.
