LUCAPA RAKES IN $8.8 MILLION FROM ROUGH SALES IN Q3

Sociedade Mineira Do Lulo (SML), a joint venture company between Lucapa Diamond, Endiama and Rosas & Petalas, has announced its sales and production results for the third quarter ended September, reporting revenues of $8.8 million from two sales of Lulo alluvial diamonds in Angola, according to Rough & Polished. This constitutes a 14% drop in sales year-on-year.

 

Lucapa said the stones were sold at an average price per carat of $1,676. Year to date, gross sales revenues total $24.3 million at an average price per carat of $1,640.

 

Lucapa said SML produced 5,278 carats of diamonds during the quarter – 26% up compared to the previous quarter, but 40% lower year-on-year. Lucapa said production during the quarter “was adversely impacted by maintenance downtime”.
