LUCAPA’S LULO DIAMOND MINE RAKES IN $7.3 MILLION FROM 8TH SALE

Lucapa Diamond Company has announced that the eighth sale for 2017 of alluvial diamonds from the Lulo Diamond Project in Angola achieved gross proceeds of $7.3 million. A total of 4,126 carats were sold, and the sale raked in $1,770 per carat.

 

According to a press release, the latest sale brought gross proceeds from Lulo diamond sales to date in 2017 to $31.6 million at an average price per carat of $1,668. The next sale of Lulo diamonds, which will be held in either December 2017 or early in 2018, will include a 129 carat and 78 carat Type IIa D-colour gems recovered from Mining Block 6.

 

In October, Sociedade Mineira Do Lulo (SML), a joint venture company between Lucapa Diamond, Endiama and Rosas & Petalas, announced its sales and production results for the third quarter ended September, reporting revenues of $8.8 million from two sales of Lulo alluvial diamonds in Angola. This constitutes a 14% drop in sales year-on-year.
