TWO LARGE WHITE DIAMONDS RECOVERED FROM MERLIN MINE

Merlin Diamonds, which operates Merlin Diamond Mine the in the Northern Territory of Australia, has announced the recovery of two large high quality white diamond – an 18.4-carat stone and a 9.5-carat stone.

 

Both rough stones were recovered from “ from the 60,000 tonnes of recently mined ore from Ector pit”. According to the company, “processing from the Ector pit is ongoing and more large white diamonds are anticipated”.

 

In July 2018, Merlin Diamonds recovered 32 pink diamonds weighing a total of 6.639 carats. According to the company, this was “a good indicator that more significant discoveries will be made as mining in the five pits – Excalibur, Gwain, Ywain, Ector and Kaye – commences”.
