Online jeweler Blue Nile will open its sixth “Webroom” in the US. According to IDEX Online, the Webroom will be located in the Mall at Rockingham Park in Salem, New Hampshire. It will open in the Fall 2017 and cater to the Boston metropolitan area. Blue Nile’s other Webrooms are located in Oregon, Virginia and Washington, and two Webrooms in New York.
Blue Nile’s Webrooms serve as display locations. In them, customers can see the offered goods, then order them on a PC, by smartphone or via a tablet. Customers can also purchase on-site by using in-store tablets.
In January of this year, Blue Nile partnered with e-commerce company Mondiamo to launch a diamond jewelry buy-back program. Blue Nile has promised that the service will relieve consumers of the “stress” involved in dealing with pawn and jewelry stores when they want to sell their jewelry. According to the online retailer, the diamond jewellery second-hand market is estimated at $1 trillion over the world.
