Drake’s love for over-the-top diamond jewelry makes headlines again, as the Canadian-born rapper is reported to have commissioned a one-off necklace featuring 42 diamonds – “one for each time he considered proposing marriage, but didn’t,” according to IDEX Online.
The piece, dubbed “Previous Engagements”, was made by celebrity jeweler Alex Moss over 14 months. It features 351.38 carats of diamonds in a range of cuts – round, emerald, princess and pear – and settings, and reportedly costs $12.5 million.
Moss posted a video with the following voiceover: “Each stone meticulously set, utilizing the eagle claw technique. Previous Engagements for all the times he thought about it but never did. A true wonder of the jewelry world.”
