This year’s Met Gala in New York City, themed “Camp: Notes on Fashion”, brought out every extravagant taste from our favorite celebrities. The newly-engaged couple Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez were no exception, each draped in extra glitz and bling.
Lopez wore a Versace gown complemented by a staggering 129.48-carat purple sapphire and diamond necklace by Harry Winston. She also had a glittering headpiece, vintage diamond chandelier earrings, and several diamond bracelets and rings. She did not forget the engagement ring A-Rod gave her in the Bahamas last March – a piece weighing between 10 and 15 carats, and estimated at a minimum of $1 million and up to $5 million. Rodriguez wore a lilac tuxedo jacket and a Harry Winston 18-carat white gold watch, as well as diamond shirt studs.
Other celebrities at the Met Gala also went all out with their diamond accessories. Singer Kacey Musgraves, for instance, complemented her custom pink Moschino with Forevermark teardrop diamond statement earrings and a diamond ring, while actress Gemma Chan wore a silver Tom Ford gown and headpiece “as well as over 100 carats of layered classic diamond line bracelets and an oversized emerald cocktail ring”, according to a press release. The diamond in the ring weighed 10 carats.
