Peter Meeus, Chairman of the Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE), will be leaving his post on January 1, 2018, after 12 years. Meeus announced his intention to step down at the Dubai Diamond Conference.
According to IDEX Online, Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) Executive Chairman Ahmed Bin Sulayem will replace Meeus.
Meeus told IDEX Online: “I have been involved in the establishment of Dubai as a diamond trading hub since its inception […] My work is done and I can leave the further development now in the hands of the DMCC”.
