DOMINION DIAMOND PRODUCTION UP 72% IN Q2

Dominion Diamond Corporation has reported that for the second quarter ended July 31, 2017, its production has increased 72% to 2.6 million carats – up from 1.5 million carats in Q2 fiscal 2017, according to Rough & Polished.

The rise is attributed to “higher tonnes processed and a focus on high-grade Misery Main ore at the Ekati mine” as well as “steady performance at the Diavik Diamond Mine”.

Earlier this week, Dominion announced that will hold an auction of fancy yellow rough diamonds in collaboration with I. Hennig Tenders. The auction viewings will take place in Ramat Gan, Israel and in Antwerp, Belgium.

Dominion operates the Ekati Diamond Mine, in which it owns a controlling interest, and owns 40% of the Diavik Diamond Mine, both of which are located in the Northwest Territories in Canada.
